The reference numbers at Rolex have always followed a logical principle. Having initially produced four- and later five-digit references, the company now only produces the current six-digit references. Rolex 126710BLNR is not a revolution, but a successful evolution of its predecessor Ref. 116710BLNR, the Rolex Batman. With the new reference, all GMT-Master stainless steel models feature the elegant, delicate Jubilée bracelet, while all watches in the Submariner collection feature the sportier Oyster bracelets. Oyster straps in the GMT-Master range are reserved for the precious metal versions. The use of the new calibre 3285 in the Ref. 126710BLNR is also more evolution than revolution and a symbol of the horological expertise of the Geneva-based Rolex Manufacture.
