Hamilton timepieces in the movie industry
Today, the company manufactures its timepieces in Switzerland, but the origin and spirit of the Hamilton brand remain firmly rooted in American soil. The characteristic design language of the timepieces clearly points towards a rich and traditional history. At the beginning of the 20th century, Hamilton endowed numerous organisations such as the railway industry as well as the armed forces with reliable timepieces. In 1910, Hamilton became the official watch supplier of the US Army. This historic fact is honoured to this day in the Khaki Field – a watch collection that is marked by the Hamilton military watches of the past.
Known not only on the battlefield, the Khaki Field collection has also impressed on the silver screens. Liam Neeson for example, bears a Khaki Field watch with a black dial, a stainless steel case, and a brown leather strap in the US crime thriller, A Walk Among the Tombstones. Furthermore, a Hamilton timepiece is featured around the wrist of Matthew McConaughey in the hit movie Interstellar. However, it is not only in recent films that the renowned brand has been featured, but it has also been incorporated into old-time classics, such as the Hamilton Ventura that was worn around the wrist of Elvis Presley in the musical film Blue Hawaii.
