Sinn 656 series

Initially focused on navigation board clocks and pilot chronographs, Sinn Spezialuhren achieved its breakthrough a few years after its foundation with the production of pilot’s wristwatches. The Sinn 656 series, along with other precision watches made by Sinn in Frankfurt am Main, enjoys the best reputation worldwide – among pilots as well as lovers of sophisticated timepieces.

Sinn 656 and Sinn 657

At Sinn Spezialuhren, functionality is paramount. Ambitious pilot Helmut Sinn founded the company in 1961. Sinn mechanical wristwatches are regarded as masterpieces of technical progress and their recognisable design and refined details have impressed enthusiasts ever since. They recall the company's long history yet are in tune with the times thanks to a fine balance of traditional manufacturing and cutting-edge technology.

Sinn's 656 and 657 models are elegantly restrained, allowing the functions to take precedence. These mechanical wristwatches have a clever dial design that ensures particularly good readability. The design allows for maximum contrast between the hands, indices and numerals and the glare-free blackened dial; the above-average size of the numbers enables intuitive orientation even at dusk

The distinctive pointer profile makes it easier to read the time. It is perfectly complemented by the long minute and hour hands and indices enhanced with special noctilucent paint - the time can be easily read, even in difficult conditions.

Sinn 656 watches

Optimised for easy readability, the Sinn 656 watches are used purely for the measurement of time. The robust case made of pearl-blasted stainless steel with a nickel-free case back is covered with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. Functionality is exceedingly important to Sinn; this is immediately apparent in the magnetic field protection up to 80,000 A / m and pressure resistance up to 20 bar.

Originally designed for the instrument panels of various types of aircraft and helicopters, modern 656 wristwatches have the characteristics of a navigation board clock. The instrumental chronograph is available in the 656, 656L and 656 s versions; something that's certain to appeal to fans of refined pilot watches. The 656L model was a limited edition and only 300 were produced. The highlight of this timepiece is a white luminescent dial enhanced by enlarged numerals and indices in classic black. The original Sinn 656 has a bracelet made of stainless steel, while the special 656 L has a black band made of high-quality leather with a striking white seam. The matt black chrome-plated stainless steel case of the 656S is particularly effective when teamed with a matt black silicone bracelet with distinctive Sinn lettering.

657 and 657S watches

With captive rotating ring

Building on the Sinn 656 series, the 657 series timepieces offer functionality and good time readability as well as the option to control memorised times. The rotating bezel is an important aid, especially in aviation, and recalls the tradition of Sinn Spezialuhren navigation board clocks. The captive rotating ring developed by Sinn can be turned on both sides and clicks into place in minutes. The Sinn 657 also offers excellent readability with its unusual bezel. Silver lettering is applied to an embedded black anodised aluminium ring which has a luminescent triangle as the main marker to ensure practical reading even in the dark.

The Sinn 657 model is equipped with a stainless-steel case and a matching black leather strap. In contrast, the all-black chrome-plated 657S is just as striking. All other features are similar in design to previous Sinn 656 watches. Furthermore, you are guaranteed optimal technical features, clear legibility and comfort when you choose any model from the Sinn 656 or the 657 series.

Sinn watches on famous wrists

Sinn watches are recognised as solid and reliable timepieces by watch connoisseurs thanks to the high quality of manufacture. Made in Frankfurt am Main, Sinn stands for precise timekeeping and technical finesse. Many celebrities are fans of the German brand, including astronaut Reinhard Furrer who was the first person to go into space with an automatic watch on his wrist. Of course, the watch in question came from Sinn, and Furrer, who holds a doctorate in physics, was inadvertently transformed into one of the brand’s most famous advertising mediums. Sports enthusiasts love Sinn watches too. The Sinn 656 and other timeless models can often be seen adorning the wrists of German rally driving legends Hans-Joachim Stuck and Walter Röhrl.
