In 2017, motor sports enthusiasts will celebrate a special jubilee: 70 years ago, the legendary motorsport manufacturer Ferrari introduced its first car into the market – the Ferrari 125. In celebration of the achievement, Hublot and Ferrari have created the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph, featuring a design inspired by the aesthetics of the Italian racing team. The collection features an exquisite Tourbillon model as well as a mono-pusher chronograph. The watch is available in three different versions, each of which are limited to 70 pieces.
Hublot and Ferrari have been in collaboration since 2011 and this year, the partnership has reached a new milestone: The Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph has been completely designed by Ferrari. The design process took place in the Ferrari Design Centre under the lead of head designer Flavio Manzoni. The case, from which the name Techframe derives, is reminiscent of a lattice tube frame that is the basis for the manufacturing of former racing cars. Now, Hublot has finalised the model and presented it to watch and motorsports enthusiasts around the globe.
The Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is a masterful instrument derived from two different yet similar worlds. Both manufacturers – Hublot a Ferrari – embody strength and value exceptional performance.
It is not only the outer aesthetic of the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph that impress with an avant-garde design, it is also the inner mechanisms of the timepiece that are inspiring: The calibre HUB6311 represents revolutionary breakthroughs in the world of watchmaking and illustrates once again that Hublot is key player within the luxury watch industry. The exclusive timepiece comes equipped with a mono-pusher chronograph, a tourbillon, and a power reserve of 115 hours.
The mono-pusher chronograph, as made evident by its name, is known for its singular push piece functionality, which carries out the purpose of starting, stopping, as well as restarting the timer. The manufacturing of such a mechanism is a feat of its own. Thanks to the addition of the exquisite tourbillon, the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is highly ranked among many mechanical masterpieces in the world of fine timepieces.
In addition, the movement of the timepiece is installed by a 30-degree rotation in the Techframe, which facilitates the chronograph pusher at the 3 o’clock position. Thus, the best possible functionality of the timepiece is guaranteed. As a result, the crown of the watch is located at the 4 o’clock position.
Hublot has installed the tourbillion of the timepiece on a bridge of sapphire glass. This leads to the impression that the mechanism is simply floating. Thanks to the urban, masculine design of the model, the calibre HUB6311 stands in a totally different light compared to the usual classic-elegant calibre, which is characterised by Genfer stripes, a swan neck micrometre and blue bolts. Moreover, the skeleton dial enables a view of the tourbillon from both sides of the watch.
The change of the bracelet works easily thanks to the one-click system by Hublot, which is a slightly different version of the system utilised in the Hublot Big Bang Unico. The bracelet of the Techframe can easily be changed with two pushers that are positioned on each side of the lugs.
The Techframe is available in three different versions: King Gold, PEEK Carbon and Titanium. Each version is restricted to 70 units. Therefore, a total of 210 units exist worldwide.
The Titanium and PEEK carbon version feature the chronograph pusher and the one-click pushers, which enable the switch of the bracelet. The strap paired with these versions is composed of a Ferrari red, also known as “Rosso Corsa” – the classic colour of a Ferrari sports car. The King-Gold version of the timepiece features striking black elements. Regardless of the specific model, the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is a very popular watch for collectors with an extraordinary appreciation for functionality, precision, and the art of watchmaking.
