This is what Omega stands for

The 14-digit Omega is also known as the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer. More specifically, Ref. is the Seamaster with a black dial, bezel and a rubber strap. This watch's case is made from a mixture of stainless steel and the 18-carat Sedna gold developed by Omega.

What makes the Omega so special is its versatility. The Omega Seamaster is an authentic tool watch that can be used for professional diving. At the same time, the Seamaster has an elegant appearance. This is mainly due to the rubber strap, whose appearance resembles leather straps, and the Sedna gold used, which gives the watch a noble touch.

At CHRONEXT you will find a large selection of Seamaster models available for immediate delivery at attractive prices. Discover these references and many more in our online shop and you will benefit from our fully comprehensive service. All purchases come with our maximum security 24-month CHRONEXT warranty.

In detail

The reference numbers used by Omega are among the most complex in the watch industry. Nevertheless, these numbers follow a certain scheme (AA.BB.CC.DD.EE.FFF) called PIC 14. Ref. stands for the following:

  • 210: Collection code (210 = Seamaster)
  • 22: Material of case and strap (22 = steel/Sedna gold)
  • 42: diameter (42 = 42 millimetres)
  • 20: Calibres and complications (20 = OMEGA Master Chronometer Calibre 8800)
  • 01: Colour of the dial and if applicable stone setting (01 = black)
  • 002: Model-specific code

The Omega made with Sedna gold

The Sedna gold used in Ref. is a rose gold alloy developed by Omega consisting of gold (minimum 75%), copper and palladium. The special feature of Sedna gold is its red lustre which results from the mix of materials used and is intended to last for a long time. The result is a charming and characteristic colour tone. The name Sedna-Gold is inspired by the planetoid Sedna which orbits our sun and has a similar reddish colour.
