A ticking legend

Seamaster Professional, Seamaster Diver, Seamaster 300M: the core collection of the Seamaster is as popular as it is diverse. 1957 was a big year for Omega as it saw the presentation of not only the legendary timepieces Speedmaster and Railmaster, it also marked the launch of the Seamaster 300M (Ref. CK2913). Since then, the Omega Seamaster has been reworked, reinterpreted and relaunched innumerable times, always winning the approval of watch admirers. It has to be noted that the name “300M” is misleading: in 1957 and in the years following, the water resistance of the Seamaster was guaranteed to a depth up to 200 metres. The popular Seamaster Planet Ocean draws its inspiration from the very first version of the Omega Seamaster.

The second edition of the Seamaster 300M, launched in the 1960s, achieved great success and was, for a period of time, issued to the Royal Navy. The first and second generation of the Seamaster have enjoyed consistent popularity over the years and are much sought-after today. Watch enthusiasts are simply impressed with these dive watches, which can luckily be discovered on the second-hand market.

Tradition meets innovation

Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial

At the Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show 2014, Omega made longstanding clientele and admirers of vintage watches very happy: the manufacturer revived the Seamaster 300M from 1957, equipping it with the most advanced innovations that Omega has to offer. Modified to meet the state-of-the-art standards of Haute Horlogerie, the movement of the Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial (e.g. Ref. 233.30.41.21.01.001) delights with outstanding precision, impressive reliability, and insensitivity to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss.

The Master Co-Axial movement is further equipped with the Co-Axial escapement, which reduces friction in the movement and improves the precision of the watch. When it comes to the watch face, in order to protect the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial from negative external influences, Omega uses robust materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and gold.

Furthermore, a scratch-proof sapphire crystal arches above the watch face. Water-resistant to 300 metres, the Seamaster Diver 300M (e.g. Ref. 233.90.41.21.03.001) is the perfect timepiece for professional divers.

Design meets function

The variety of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M

Hardly resembling the original model from the 1950s, the current Seamaster Diver 300M (e.g. Ref. 212.30.41.20.03.001) is rather based on a dive watch launched in 1993, the Omega Seamaster Professional. After creating the Seamaster 200 in 1988, more commonly known as the Pre-Bond Seamaster, which never achieved outstanding commercial success, Omega launched the new Seamaster generation in 1993. Only two years later, the

Only two years later, the Quartz version (Ref. 2541.80.00) became an immediate bestseller thanks to an appearance on the wrist of Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond movie, “GoldenEye”. In the film sequel, “Tomorrow Never Dies”, Pierce Brosnan again opts for an Omega Seamaster. This time the mechanical Seamaster 300M Chronometer (Ref. 2531.80.00) is his watch of choice. In spite of outstanding fame, these Omega timepieces are out of production but can still be found on the second-hand market.

Keep in mind, however, that the current Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M does not disappoint as a dive watch. Offering a striking range of choices, this timepiece is available in several different versions. Equipped with three hands, the Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial 41mm (e.g. Ref. 212.30.41.20.01.003) guarantees exceptional legibility. Delighting those searching for a trustworthy chronograph, the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph (e.g. Ref. 212.30.42.50.01.001) is a highly reliable companion. The Seamaster Diver 300M GMT (Ref. 212.30.44.52.01.001) assists those traveling the world with the incorporation of a GMT function that tracks two time zones.

Available with diameters of 44, 41, or 36 millimetres, the Seamaster Professional Diver collection caters to demands while promising precision and functionality.

Omega Seamaster

A watch for dangerous missions

Paying tribute to the most famous secret agent in history, Swiss watch manufacturer Omega launched a special edition of its popular Co-Axial. Presented in 2012, the Omega Seamaster Co-Axial James Bond 007 (Ref. 212.30.41.20.01.005) commemorates the 50th anniversary of the James Bond movie franchise.

Featuring the engraving “007” on the black watch face, the affiliation of the watch to the Secret Service agent is exceptional. The case back of the watch is marked with a gun-barrel design while there is a “bullet” design on the rotor of the watch that can be seen through the anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The centrepiece of the Seamaster James Bond 007 is Omega’s calibre 2507, featuring the elaborate Co-Axial escapement with a self-winding mechanism. In the celebrated 2006-movie, “Casino Royale”, Daniel Craig draws upon tradition and sports a blue Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial 41MM (Ref. 2220.80.00). This particular timepiece does not sport any technical gadgets. It

In the celebrated 2006-movie, “Casino Royale”, Daniel Craig draws upon tradition and sports a blue Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial 41MM (Ref. 2220.80.00). This particular timepiece does not sport any technical gadgets. It is, however, a shining example of Haute Horlogerie that can face dangerous missions with style and reliability.

Today, admirers of Secret Service agent 007 can purchase used models of this watch. For underwater missions, the sister model of the Diver collection is even better suited: The Seamaster Ploprof 1200M (e.g. Ref. 224.32.55.21.01.001) stems from the French term “plongeurs professionels”, and meets all the demands of professional divers.

The Seamaster Diver 300M ETNZ Limited Edition

Omega for yachtsmen

The Swiss watch manufacturer Omega and the sailing team Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ) are linked by a close connection, deepened further in 2013 when the ETNZ participated in the America’s Cup. In honour of the occasion, Omega created the ETNZ Chronograph (Ref. 212.32.44.50.01.001), in order to celebrate the team’s success.

The elaborate features of the watch ensure that it is the perfect companion for regattas. The 30-minute chronograph recorder is an ideal function since it is equipped with a distinct scale that allows for a countdown to ensue and indicate the start of a regatta. Other practical features include the seconds sub-dial, the 12-hour chronograph recorder, the central chronograph seconds hand, as well as a date window display. The Co-Axial calibre 330 ensures utmost precision, which is required when timing sporting competitions.

But the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M ETNZ Limited Edition is not only admired for its sophisticated technology; the striking design has won over countless watch enthusiasts as well. Big numerals and indices, the matte black watch face, and the bright red accents emphasize the sporty nature of the world-renowned timepiece.
