Hublot Big Bang

This year, the Big Bang watch celebrates its 10th anniversary. After a decade of manufacturing the versatile Big Bang collection, Hublot can kick back and watch its signature watch line sell itself. But the Swiss manufacturer has done just the opposite: during the Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show 2015, Hublot presented three new Big Bang models. The Big Bang has many admirers amongst actors and athletes and can be considered a star of Haute Horlogerie.

Watches that want to be seen

The art of fusion: the Fusion concept - the idea that drives Swiss watch manufacturer Hublot - culminates in the Big Bang collection. These watches surprise with unusual material combinations - carbon, ceramic and magnesium, as well as titanium, steel, and gold, are utilized in the Big Bang timepieces.

The first specimen was presented in 2005: the Big Bang Gold Ceramic. Today, the Big Bang line includes an impressive number of striking designs that have helped the Big Bang become one of the best-known and most popular wristwatches of the world. One of the secrets to the success of Hublot’s Big Bang line is the fact that these watches can be - and are - worn by men and women alike. The Big Bang was created when Hublot was under the expert leadership of Jean-Claude Biver - today he is President of Hublot and President of the Watch Division of LVMH.

Both young watch enthusiasts and longstanding Hublot clientele appreciate the Big Bang for its innovative design that ensures that the Big Bang is a timepiece of the future.

Extraordinary combinations

With an incredible choice of different materials, movements, and designs, everyone - no matter how unusual the taste preference - will discover their personal favourite amongst the wide variety of Hublot Big Bang watches.

Hublot’s signature feature is the unexpected combination of materials that could not be more different: manufactured from carbon, ceramic, yellow or red gold, steel, titanium, or platinum, the watch is attached to a bracelet fashioned from rubber, titanium, or crocodile leather.

But the inner workings of the Big Bang are extraordinary as well: it is up to the client to choose between a quartz or an automatic movement. Even mechanical chronograph movements can be fit into the Hublot Big Bang.

Some timepieces of the multifaceted collection have become highly coveted classics, including the Hublot Big Bang Gold (Ref. 341.PX.130.RX) that shines in black and gold. With its dark finish, the Hublot Big Bang Black Magic (Ref. 342.CX.130.RX) is slightly more subdued yet no less elegant than the sophisticated Hublot Big Bang Steel (reference 365.CX.130.RX).

Regularly, the Swiss manufacturers delights watch enthusiasts with special editions and promising cooperations. Of course, these Hublot watches do not come at a bargain due to limitations in production.

Hublot Big Bang

Watch of a thousand faces

In 2005, Hublot presented the first Big Bang to apply the Fusion design concept that would herald the start of a new era. The Hublot Big Bang family offers popular standard models as well as highly coveted limited editions, including the Hublot Big Bang Ayrton Senna Limited Edition All Black Split Second (Ref. 309.CM.134.RX.AES07). Those who want to show off their colours should take a look at the Big Bang Tutti Frutti (LINK) collection. The Big Bang Pop Art models attract attention with their bright colours as well. Both the Tutti Frutti and the Pop Art models are especially popular among the female clientele.

The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang All Black (Ref. 601.CI.0110.RX) is the first Hublot watch that is completely black, forming a stark contrast to the two colourful collections. Staying true to its new, darker colour concept, Hublot later launched the Hublot Big Bang Black Magic (Ref. 342.CX.130.RX i.a.) and the Hublot Big Bang Unico All Black Limited Edition, which surprises with colourful accents in blue, green, red, or orange.

The wide variety of different materials - a result of the celebrated Fusion concept - makes for a choice of watches that appears limitless. Hublot has also presented a number of highly extravagant watches, such as the Big Bang Caviar Black (Ref. 346.CX.1800.RX). The diversity and expressive power of every Hublot Big Bang watch, as well as Hublot’s talent for surprising clientele time and again with unexpected designs, explains the strong popularity of the Big Bang timepieces.

The art of fusion

The Hublot Big Bang

First presented in 2005, the distinguished “art of fusion”concept has won critical acclaim and was honoured at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2005, where the Hublot Big Bang, the flagship of Hublot’s fusion concept, won the award in the category of “Best Design”.

The art of fusion can also be admired through the Hublot Big Bang Unico Titanium Ceramic (Ref. 411.NM.1170.RX). As the name indicates, this watches surprises with a unique combination of titanium and ceramic, ensuring a sophisticated elegance. Other special editions that have created an international stir are the eye-catching Hublot Aero Bang Gold (Ref. 311.PX.1180.GR) as well as the bold Big Bang All Gray Carbon (Ref. QX.1740.GR).

But the Hublot Big Bang watches do not only impress with exceptional designs and what can be found at the heart of many of these watches is just as spectacular: the famed Unico movement. This manufactured Hublot movement was in development for four years before being launched and is now comprised of 330 components.

Originally, the Unico movement was only installed in the King Power watches, which were big enough to accommodate a movement of the Unico size. For some time now, Hublot has been using the sizeable movement in the 38 or 44 mm Big Bang models. Many of these Hublot watches are equipped with a sapphire glass case back, including the Big Bang Unico King Gold Ceramic (Ref. 411.OM.1180.RX) - revealing the elaborate workings of the Unico movement.

The headliner of Haute Horlogerie

Hublot Big Bang

The red carpet appearances of the Hublot Big Bang are frequent and awe-inspiring. World-famous celebrities have quickly come to admire the diversity of the watch as well as the ingenious design.

Particularly elegant watches from the Big Bang All Black collection, such as the stylish Big Bang Unico All Black (Ref. 411.CI.1110.RX), have become increasingly popular among stars, famous musicians, and professional footballers: Diego Maradona is a loyal Hublot client who has become very attached to his Big Bang watch.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt - who many consider to be the fastest man in history - relies on impeccable timing and it comes as no surprise then, that the Hublot Big Bang is the watch of his choice.

Singer Alicia Keys regularly accessorizes her wrist with the Big Bang. Other big names like Antonio Banderas and Lionel Richie have also fallen under the spectacular Big Bang spell.

The watches of the Big Bang series have proven themselves time and again - be it during an exquisite award show or in the field a football stadium. An extraordinary specimen belonging to the collection is the Hublot Big Bang Aero Bang Steel (Ref. 311.SX.1170.GR), which radiates unprecedented elegance. Founded in 1980, the Swiss watch manufacturer has quickly and impressively made a name for itself. Today, it is one of the best-known luxury watch brands in the world and has a diverse fan base thanks to its visionary design and innovative technology.
